Paintings by Linda Hass

Linda
Hass captures a fascinating view of the world around her. She has been painting
since 1966 and is mostly self-taught although influence by many artists she
studied with. This artist chooses to paint a variety of subjects in landscapes,
still lifes, country, Victorian and southwest, etc.…in various styles. All of
her paintings are technically suburb and immensely creative. She uses color in
vastly different ways creating gentle scenes of great energy and brilliance;
some realistic…some impressionistic, making them a feast for the senses. Linda
sums up her paintings simply, "I have tried to interpret things as I see
and feel inside…sometimes fun…sometimes tranquil scenes that invite the
viewer to come in and explore…a sincere approach to painting to which all
people can understand."
Linda &
husband Danny have lived on a hilltop near La Grange since 1976. They own and
operate Country Arts Gallery Frames & Gifts and Home Run Baseball Cards in
La Grange where Linda maintains her studio and teaches oil painting classes. If
you stop by you will find her busy at work at her easel, teaching a class or
working on any of the other handicrafts she sells at their business. Linda also
helps her customers with interior design from floor to ceiling.
Linda has
shown her paintings in many cities around Texas. She has painted many murals,
creative wall décor and wonderful motifs on furniture. Her latest mural (1999)
can be seen at the Olsen's Country Kitchen, formally Bon Ton Bistro, in La
Grange, Texas. Two of her paintings where chosen for the 1981 Historical
Calendar for La Grange State Bank. The same two paintings are in limited prints
that are now collector’s items. She is a member of the La Grange Fine Arts
League. Her work may be found in private collections around the country, at
Olsen's, The Painted Wagon in Flatonia and at Country Arts Gallery.
